Why did you want to become an occupational therapist?
As an OT, I have the ability to help people of all ages and abilities to do the things they need and want to do. I think hands are really interesting and using them is what makes us human. While PTs get you going, it’s the OT that gets you doing. In this area of practice, I can be “hands on” in helping my patients be the best they can be. This is very individualistic and each treatment is designed specifically for each patient. The rehab environment is fun and dynamic, making every therapeutic journey special.
Occupational therapist Moussia is AMAZING. She helped me recover from the latest bout of a chronic injury (forearm tendinitis) that I’ve had for 13 years. She knew techniques and had tools that no other physical therapist has ever mentioned to me. Now I feel strong, I’m not in pain, and I’m ready to move on to working with a personal trainer to get even stronger. Tonight I cooked a dish that involved a lot of stirring and I don’t hurt! I can’t begin to explain what a wonder and a joy this is.
All the admin staff are lovely too, even when dealing with my extremely annoying health insurance. And they were always very nice when I ran late for my appointments (sorry about that).
The next time I do something foolish that aggravates my arms, or if I have any other injury that needs physical or occupational therapy, I will definitely head right back to Park Sports.
I have used Park Sports several times for shoulder, hip, and hand issues. They have been consistently friendly, skillful, and professional. Recently, Moussia Krinsky-Raskin helped me restore flexibility and strength in a damaged hand. She was skilled and encouraging and the hand now has returned to normal – just stronger!
I recently had hand surgery and required Occupational Therapy. Park Sports came highly recommended. My therapist was Moussia Krinsky and I can’t say enough good things about her. She was gentle yet knew when to push along. EVERY session she introduced a new exercise which kept things interesting. And, I couldn’t be happier with my results. I give her five stars!
Recovering With Care (taken from Yated Neeman, an Orthodox Jewish newspaper)
About six months ago, I was crossing the street and a commercial van backed up and knocked me over. My radius bone in my wrist was shattered and the ulna bone was shattered. I needed a plate and screws to repair the bone. After my surgery, I was given a paper with a list of physical therapists to choose from. I had no idea where to go, so I left it up to Hashem (God). I decided to use Park Sports Physical Therapy in Park Slope. It was only a 10-15 minute ride from Boro Park and they had a hand specialist there.
Little did I know that of all places and people, I was selecting a from (devout) Lubavitcher girl named Moussia Krinsky. No one should ever need it, but if anyone does, I cannot talk enough about Moussia. She is absolutely a shliach (agent) of Hashem. She has golden hands. Everything about her marks excellence. Her brilliance and expertise, knowing exactly what to do and how to do it, no matter what the injury is, make everyone feel like they will be on the road to recovery. Her warm and caring nature make it such a pleasure to come back each week.
It’s not easy to have physical therapy, but when you have people going from not being able to make a fist to being fully functional in a few months, you will know that is was well worth it.
p>If anyone needs a hand specialist, Moussia Krinsky is the one I highly recommend.
