Kristin Romeo received her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology from Binghamton University where she concurrently became certified as an EMT and worked in emergency medical services for several years.

She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014 from The Graduate Center – College of Staten Island, and was awarded for “Highest Academic Honors” at graduation.

Kristin is a certified Schroth therapist and specializes in the three-dimensional treatment of scoliosis. Kristin designs specific treatment techniques specific to each patient’s curvature to help decrease pain and facilitate a return to pain-free activities.

Kristin became C1 certified in 2017 through the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS). Her dissertation was on Cortical Modulation of Spinal Reflexes in Healthy Humans.

Kristin is also Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). This is considered the highest credential in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation and is currently held by less than six percent of practicing therapists in the United States.

She works with both adult and pediatric populations and has experience treating an array of orthopedic conditions incorporating yoga and Pilates techniques in her treatment.

Kristin also acts as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) for Park Sports. Park Sports works with numerous physical therapy schools throughout the country (and even a few abroad) to facilitate the clinical education of physical therapy students.

Why did you want to become a Physical Therapist?

I enjoy learning about the complexities of the human body and the intricacies of rehabilitating from an injury. I am privileged to work with so many interesting people and help them through a difficult part of their lives. It’s very fulfilling work and working in orthopedics keeps me constantly engaged analyzing and interpreting. I enjoy going to work every day because I feel like I’m making a small difference in people’s lives.

Patient Testimonials

If there were more stars I would give them. I travel more than 45 mins to come to Therapy with Kristin because I’m so happy here. I’ve been getting stronger and my back has been feeling so much better. I’m able to do things now that I couldn’t do before. I recommend Kristin to all my friends and family.

Park Sports PT is a wonderful facility. Friendly staff. A calm, open, well lit space to work on PT, and a very supportive team of physical therapists. I highly recommend Kristin. I worked with her after tearing my ACL last year. Following surgery she helped me set my recovery goals and clearly explained the road ahead in PT. She is positive, motivating, and challenging and I’m happy to share that that I’m back running, biking and playing soccer after working with her. She is a great example of the kind of service and motivation you receive at Park Sports PT.
