BORIS GILZON, PT, DPT, OCS, CHT
Boris graduated from Hunter College Summa Cum Laude in 1989. He gained orthopedic and sports rehabilitation experience at Hospital for Joint Diseases - NYU Medical Center. From 1993 to 1999, Boris worked as Chief PT at Brooklyn Spine and Arthritis Center of New York Methodist Hospital. He became a Board Certified Hand Therapist
in 2001 and passed the Orthopedic Specialty Board examination in 2009. Boris obtained his DPT degree from Long Island University in 2012. He received certification in Pilates instruction in 2003. Boris is an Associate Professor at CUNY/SI Department of Physical Therapy. He is a former national level track and field competitor and presently a competitive triathlete.
SVETLANA LAZAREV PT, OCS
After graduating from Hunter College Summa Cum Laude, Svetlana worked at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, gaining experience in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation. Svetlana is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist
. She obtained an Advanced Hip Clinician Certification from the Hospital for Special Surgery in 2012. She is a certified yoga teacher and her treatment approach incorporates yoga and Pilates based exercises.
EDWARD UMHEISER, DPT
Edward completed his studies at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. While at Downstate he participated in research and community service activities. Upon graduation, he received a research study award in the area of balance and postural sway. During his final year of graduate studies, Edward was mentored at Lutheran Medical Center's vestibular clinic where he worked with patients experiencing various degrees of dizziness, balance disturbance, and vertigo. Edward is an avid cyclist and enjoys taking advantage of the excellent bike trails that the tri-state area has to offer.
IGOR KOZLOV, PT, DPT
Igor grew up in Israel playing soccer. While in college, he played on the men’s soccer team for 4 years. His fascination with interplay between athleticism, movement patterns and form led him on a path to first become a certified personal trainer and, later, to receive a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hunter College. Igor has a strong interest in manual therapy and has attended numerous courses through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). He is working toward becoming a Sport Certified Specialist (SCS), as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). During his free time, Igor continues to play soccer in a men’s amateur league, snowboard and root for Arsenal.
KRISTIN ROMEO, PT, DPT
Kristin Romeo received her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology from Binghamton University where she concurrently became certified as an EMT and worked in emergency medical services for several years.
She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014 from The Graduate Center - College of Staten Island, and was awarded for “Highest Academic Honors” at graduation.
Kristin is a certified Schroth therapist and specializes in the three-dimensional treatment of scoliosis. Kristin designs specific treatment techniques specific to each patient’s curvature to help decrease pain and facilitate return to pain-free activities.
She works with both adult and pediatric populations and has experience treating an array of orthopedic conditions incorporating yoga and Pilates techniques in her treatment.
Kristin became C1 certified in 2017 through the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS). Her dissertation was on Cortical Modulation of Spinal Reflexes in Healthy Humans.
Kristin also acts as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) for Park Sports. Park Sports works with numerous physical therapy schools throughout the country (and even a few abroad) to facilitate the clinical education of physical therapy students.
Kristin spends her spare time playing soccer, practicing yoga or cheering on her favorite soccer team AS Roma.
DEAN ZANETEAS, PT, MS, DPT
Dean graduated from the University of New England in 1987. He has been a physical therapist focusing on orthopedics for over 30 years. In 1995, he earned a Master's degree in Exercise Science with a specialty in Motor Control from the University of Indiana. In 2012, he obtained his DPT from Long Island University. Dean held the position of Director of Outpatient Physical Therapy at Methodist Hospital where he was instrumental in introducing and developing the outpatient pediatrics department at Methodist Hospital and various satellites. Specialties include treating the condition of torticollis, as well as many others. Dean is also a nationally Certified Instructor and Master in the art of Tae Kwon Do receiving his black belt in 1973. He regularly trains and teaches children in various schools and programs throughout New York City as part of the World Martial Arts Association.
NICOLE LIQUORI, DPT
Nicole did her undergraduate studies at Stonybrook University where she received her bachelors in health care management. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island. Nicole is interested in orthopedics and the use of manual therapy and joint mobilizations to improve mobility and flexibility. Nicole further enhanced her treatment approach by training in kinesiololgy taping. Her hands-on approach helps to restore joint mobility and overall flexibility. Nicole is particularly interested in shoulder and spinal rehabilitation. During off-hours you are likely to meet her in a local Y, CrossFit gym or yoga studio.
Nicki Silberman, PT, DPT, PhD
BSPTS Certified Schroth Therapist
Nicki graduated from the University of Delaware physical therapy program in 1996. She received her DPT from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2006 and her PhD in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2014. Nicki is a certified Schroth therapist through the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School and focuses her treatment on the conservative management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. In addition, Nicki is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education for the Hunter College DPT program and an adjunct associate professor in the LIU DPT program. Nicki lives with her husband and three children in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
JOHN LOVE, PTA
John Love graduated from LaGuardia Community College as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2015. He received his Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 2008 and went on to gain hands on experience in sustainable construction, organic farming, and woodworking before returning to the health care field with a special interest in treating patients who face occupational challenges. When not at the clinic you can find John outdoors hiking and running on the beautiful trails of upstate New York.
ALLISON SANCHEZ-MASI, OTR/L, CHT
Allison earned a degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas in 1997. She received her Board Certification in Hand Therapy in 2003. Before joining the team at Park Sports in 2009, she worked at a number of hospital and private practice settings in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Working with children and adults, Allison specializes in the rehabilitation of soft tissue and orthopedic traumas related to the hand, wrist and elbow. She is an expert in custom fabrication of static and dynamic splints. Allison is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, Allison enjoys cooking and spending time with family.
MOUSSIA KRINSKY-RASKIN, OTR/L
Moussia graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2014. She specializes in treating orthopedic and soft tissue injuries of the upper extremity and is well trained in the fabrication of custom orthoses of the elbow, wrist and hand. As an OT, Moussia prides herself on designing therapeutic activities and home exercise programs that are functional and client centered. Moussia is a member of the Lubavitch Hasidic community of Crown Heights and speaks Hebrew and Yiddish. In her spare time, Moussia enjoys practicing yoga. She is also an avid baker and founder of Moo's Gourmet, an artisanal pastry business.
LESLIE BELL, OTR/L, CHT
Leslie Bell received her degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech University in 1994 and worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Texas, primarily focusing on specialization of hand rehabilitation and splinting, before becoming lead outpatient hand therapist at Doctors Hospital in Dallas, TX. in 1999. She received her Board Certification in Hand Therapy in 2002 and moved to NYC in 2003.
Leslie specializes in post-op rehabilitation of the upper extremity, fabrication of custom static and dynamic splinting and orthotics, as well as conservative management of neurological, soft tissue, and orthopedic upper extremity conditions.
In her spare time she enjoys practicing yoga, gardening, and hiking.
IRENE HERNANDEZ, DPT
Physical Therapist & Pelvic Floor Specialist
Irene started her professional career as a software engineer. Her own difficulties with back, pelvic pain, and scoliosis led her to become a teacher in the Iyengar yoga method and later a Somatic movement practitioner in the school of Body Mind Centering. As she started being more involved in using yoga to help people with pain, her passion for this work became clear, and eventually she decided to switch professions and obtain a degree in physical therapy.
She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy with honors from Universidad Europea de Madrid, in Spain, as well as continuing education courses in manual therapy, rehabilitation based in Pilates, and the Hypopressive method. Her own experience with pelvic pain led her to decide to specialize in this type of physical therapy.
She obtained a postgraduate degree in Physical Therapy in Urogynecology from Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, in Spain, and dedicated herself fully to this field, in Madrid. In January 2016, she accepted a job offer in New York as a pelvic floor physical therapist. She brings over 3 years of experience in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction in men and women. She has continued education in the US with the Barral Institute to hone in her skills in visceral mobilization.
Irene enjoys bringing elements of her background in yoga and body-mind awareness into the therapeutic process to help patients improve body awareness, and understand how different factors such as activity, posture, emotions, etc, may cause or aggravate their symptoms, and how to introduce therapeutic changes in daily life.

Since beginning his career in online marketing back in 2010, Alex Ariza has helped many medical and dental practices connect with more patients and establish positive relationships within their communities.
Alex is driven to change the way people experience the medical office. His goal is putting the patient's experience first and help practices improve the healthcare industry one clinic at a time.
At Park Sports Physical Therapy, Alex aims to build long-lasting relationships with the residents of Brooklyn by organizing educational workshops, participating in health fairs, and developing a strong online presence dedicated to educating the public of the benefits of physical therapy, exercise, and sharing patient stories to motivate and inspire others to make healthier lifestyle choices.
Alex graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2009 majoring in Illustration and Graphic Design. Outside of marketing and public relations, he enjoys weightlifting, learning Spanish, and public speaking. He is a member of Long Island University's Toastmasters.
